THE OUTDOORS

Why choose an outdoor activity? Perhaps you want to return home feeling as though you've achieved something. Or you know that the best way to keep the children happy is to satisfy their thirst for trying new activities.

Relaxation is great, but maybe you're the sort of person who gets a real buzz from sport and fitness. On the other hand, you could simply define an Activity break at Dullstroom as  as a precious few days during which somebody else does all the rushing around…

Whatever your definition, Dullstroom offers a vast range of activities in beautiful, natural surroundings.

Fly fishing is an angling method in which an artificial 'fly' is used to catch fish. The fly is cast using a fly rod, reel, and specialized weighted line. Casting a nearly weightless fly or 'lure' requires casting techniques significantly different from other forms of casting. Fly fishermen use hand tied flies that resemble natural invertebrates or other food organisms, or 'lures' to provoke the fish to strike.

Dullstroom affords you an incredible selection of bird watching opportunities. From manmade aviaries, to birding in the bushes, the village offers the bird watching experience of a life time. The many game and nature reserves including the Crane Group offers a huge variety of birding opportunities. Print a copy of our Bird watching checklist
